Stacking rules

“Keep upright”, “Don't stack on top”, “Max weight on top”, “Max layers” and “Floor only” — what each rule does to the plan.

Every line can carry five rules. The plan follows them, and every change you make is checked against them again.

  • Keep upright

What it means: The box stands the way it is listed — it may turn on the floor, never on its side. New lines are upright until you untick it.

  • Don't stack on top

What it means: Nothing may rest on these boxes. Crates, machines and fragile lines are read with this rule on.

  • Max weight on top

What it means: How much may rest on one box. Weight above it is shared by contact area.

  • Max layers

What it means: How many of the same box may stand on each other. Empty means no limit; 0 is not allowed (it would block the line without saying so).

  • Floor only

What it means: The box must stand on the floor.

Support

A box is supported when its whole base rests on the floor or on box tops within 5 mm below it. A box is never planned hanging over a gap.

Keep upright: every item, or marked items only

The confirm card asks this once for the whole list. “Every item” (the default) puts “Keep upright” on every line, so every box stands as listed. “Marked items only” keeps the tag on the lines the list marks upright and lets the plan lie the other cartons on their side. If fewer containers would do with “Keep upright” off for some items, the plan says so and you decide.

No rules in the list?

If no line has any rule, the card says that nothing is marked “Don't stack on top” and asks you to mark fragile boxes after planning — stacking changes the plan more than anything else.
