TrimLoad

Privacy

TrimLoad plans how cartons fit into containers and trucks. To do that we keep as little as we can: your packing lists stay on your device unless you sign in, save, share or report a problem. A PDF download, and — while Pass, Pro or Team is on — a stamp for each plan, send the list to be checked; none of that is kept.

What we keep

WhatWhenWhere
Your packing list and plan on this device
When: Every change, without an account
Where: Only in your browser (local storage). Browsers can clear it. A file you upload is read there too and never sent to us.
Your email address
When: You sign in (a one-time link by email)
Where: Our database
A line that says a PDF or a file was made (never the list or the plan, which are sent to be checked and not kept)
When: You download loading steps or a file
Where: Our database: a random number and the time; signed in, also your account, the saved plan and the payment that covered it. Signed out: deleted after 30 days.
A plan sent to be stamped (never the list or the plan, which are checked and not kept)
When: While Pass, Pro or Team is on: each plan once, about 1.5 seconds after it stops changing
Where: Nothing on our side. The stamp — a signed fingerprint that lets that plan download and share after your plan ends — stays on your device.
The list on screen when you ask for a sign-in link, or a plan you bring into your account
When: You ask for the link; you press “Bring it over” after signing in
Where: Our database, as a draft: 30 days if you never sign in; in an account, 365 days after its last change.
Saved plans, item lists, folders, logos
When: You save them (Pass, Pro, Team)
Where: Our database
Which column of your sheet holds what (never the lines)
When: A signed-in team confirms how a sheet was read
Where: Our database, filed under a fingerprint of the column names
A plan behind a share link
When: You make a share link
Where: Our database, until the link expires
“Loaded as planned / Needed changes” answers
When: Someone who opened your link answers
Where: With that plan; shown to you
Problem reports
When: You press “Report a problem”
Where: Our database, and an email to us
Payments, invoices, tax details
When: You pay
Where: Polar (our reseller) — we never see card numbers
Counts of what people do (for example “a plan was made”)
When: As you use the planner
Where: Daily totals only. To count a person once a day we keep a salted hash of the network address and browser for 2 days.
Error reports
When: Something breaks
Where: Message, page address and browser type — never your plan contents
Which of our links brought you
When: You arrive through one of our links
Where: A cookie in your browser for 90 days; saved with your account if you make one

  • Anyone who has a share link can open that plan without signing up. The address is long and random, so it cannot be guessed, and search engines are told not to index it.
  • A link made on Free works for 30 days; on Pass, Pro or Team for one year. The end date is fixed when the link is made.
  • You can delete a link at any time. Someone who opens it then sees that it is no longer available.
  • Anyone can press “Report this link” if a link shows something it should not; we look at every report within 2 business days.

How long we keep it

  • Plans on your device: until you or your browser clear them. We keep them only when you sign in, save, share or report a problem; a PDF or file download, and a stamp while Pass, Pro or Team is on, send the plan to be checked and keep none of it.
  • The line a PDF or file download leaves: 30 days when you are signed out; with your account until you delete it.
  • Work kept through sign-in (the plan on screen when you asked for a sign-in link, or one you brought into your account): 30 days if you never sign in; 365 days after its last change once it is in your account.
  • Saved plans, item lists, folders and logos: while your paid plan runs, and for 365 days after it ends. We email you 14 days before we delete them. Paying again before then brings everything back.
  • Deleted plans go to “Deleted plans” for 30 days, then they are gone.
  • Share links live until their end date; the plan behind an expired link is removed 30 days later.
  • Problem reports are kept for up to two years, so a repeat problem can be compared.
  • Backups: deleted data is gone from our backups within 30 days.

Download or delete everything

  • Download all my data: Account → Data gives one ZIP with every plan (as JSON and CSV), share link, answer, item, folder, logo and the list of your exports.
  • Delete everything: Account → Data → “Delete account…”. If you have a subscription, it is cancelled first, then everything is deleted. Can't sign in? Email support@trimload.com from your account's address and we delete it within 30 days.
  • Polar keeps its own record of your payments, because as the merchant of record it must keep tax records. Ask Polar to remove what the law lets it remove.
  • You can ask us what we hold about you, or to correct it: support@trimload.com.

Cookies and device storage

  • A sign-in cookie, only after you sign in. No advertising cookies, no tracking across other sites.
  • A source cookie when you arrive through one of our own links (a short link in a video or post, a share link, or ovrseas.io): it records which link brought you and the page you landed on, for 90 days, so we can count which channels bring people who plan. It is set once and never overwritten. If you make an account, that source is saved with it. Nothing else is in it.
  • Your plans in the browser's local storage (see above).
  • Our own staff browsers carry a marker cookie so our visits are not counted as customers.

Where data is stored

In the United States (see the table above). We send data abroad only to the companies listed, for the job listed.

Changes

When this page changes in a way that matters, we email account holders before the change applies. See also the terms and the short data handling page.
